Job summary

Johnson Service Group is seeking an Upstream Processing Scientist - I to support laboratory operations in West Point, PA, contributing to the development of life-saving vaccines through upstream bioprocessing tasks.

The role requires a B.S. in biology or a related field, hands-on bioprocessing experience, aseptic techniques, and strong communication. Onsite work with potential weekend shifts; GLP practices and teamwork emphasized.

Qualifications

B.S. in Biology, Bio/chemistry, Bio/chemical Engineering, or a related field.
At least six months of hands-on laboratory experience in upstream bioprocessing, including bioreactor operations, microbial and mammalian cell culture.
Skills in aseptic techniques, pipetting, and solution preparation.
Experience with culturing cells, performing basic cell-based assays, and using spreadsheets in Excel.
Proficiency in operating bioreactors and conducting in-process monitoring.
Strong computer literacy and quick adaptability to new software.
Excellent communication skills and keen attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
