Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is seeking a friendly and skilled Food & Beverage Associate to join our restaurant team in Cambridge, MA. You will take orders, serve guests, process payments, and assist in maintaining a clean, well-run dining area with a focus on hospitality and wine knowledge.

You will be responsible for opening side duties, stock checks, and collaborating with bussing and kitchen staff to ensure a smooth guest experience.

Qualifications

• Complete knowledge of table, seat, station numbers and hours of operation.
• Knowledge of liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections.
• Understanding of wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the list.
• Knowledge of all menu items, prices, ingredients, and presentation standards.
• Follow departmental policies and service procedures.

Responsibilities

• Take food & beverage orders and serve to guest tables according to hotel standards.
• Collect payments and input charges into the system; handle cash and credit per policies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the restaurant area and equipment.
• Open side duties: stock checks, napkin folds, supply requisition, set up condiments.
• Prepare service carts, dessert tables, and beverage provision per standards.
• Assist in wine service and presenting bottles to guests.
• Anticipate guest needs and maintain positive guest relations.
• Assist Bus person and guide service staff to optimize guest experience.
• Ensure accurate order transmission to kitchen and handle system downtime gracefully.
• Close service with proper table clearing, linen handling, and reports.
