Epping Forest Yacht Club is seeking a seasoned cook to join our upscale kitchen. You will prepare and plate dishes to specification, ensuring exceptional quality and timely service in a luxury hotel or restaurant setting.

The role requires 2+ years of cooking experience, formal culinary training, and strong knowledge of sanitation standards. Expect a fast-paced environment with emphasis on presentation and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language.
• Two+ years cooking experience in upscale, luxury hotel or freestanding restaurant.
• Post secondary culinary training/certification as Cook from a recognized culinary school.
• Knowledge of Food Service Sanitation Standards and kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food cooked to order according to approved standard recipes.
• Plate food for service according to plating/presentation criteria.
• Ensure all food served is of highest quality and served timely.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards.
• Assist with training and supervising junior kitchen staff.
• Monitor food temperatures and storage to ensure safety.
