Job summary

Biltmore in Asheville, NC is seeking a part-time Server averaging about 20 hours per week to join our dining team. You will coordinate table service, communicate with front and back of house, and deliver world-class hospitality following Biltmore standards.

Shifts include nights, weekends, and holidays; you must be at least 18, have prior full-service restaurant experience, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work on weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Previous serving experience in a full-service restaurant is required.
• Excellent guest relation and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Process guest orders to ensure items are prepared properly and promptly.
• Present, open, and pour wine when serving guests.
• Observe diners and ensure satisfaction, respond to requests, and determine when the meal is complete.
• Total bills and handle payments or refer guests to supervisors.
• Maintain knowledge of the menu and beverages; upsell items.
• Work on the POS system per guidelines.
• Ensure uniforms are clean and presentable.
• Arrive ready to work in full uniform and appropriate footwear.
• Keep cutlery, china, and glassware spotless before setting tables.
• Must work nights, weekends, and potential holidays.
• May assist bus person with stocking, removing, and resetting tables between courses.
• Complete side duties before end of shift; prepare for next meal period.
• Conform to Biltmore goals, culture, service standards and values.
• Maintain a clean working environment in line with sanitation and safety standards.
• Lift/carry/push/pull 25–50 pounds; serve on large trays above shoulder level.
• May work in hot interior or exterior areas and may have double shifts.
