Job summary

The Barnett Hotel in New Orleans seeks a dedicated Restaurant Server to deliver warm, knowledgeable service, take and deliver orders, and maintain a clean, efficient station. You will contribute to an exceptional dining experience while upholding brand standards and safety policies.

With a 2+ year server background, you will manage guest needs, upsell menu items, and work in a historic Creole townhouse setting that hosts live music and curated events. Flexibility in scheduling is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college hospitality courses preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a server in a similar-sized restaurant.
• Additional restaurant roles (host, food runner, bus person) preferred.
• Certifications such as ServSafe, TiPS are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet and acknowledge guests upon arrival.
• Follow established hotel service sequence for consistent experiences.
• Handle payment for guests per PCI and cash handling procedures.
• Ring guest orders through Micros POS system.
• Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
• Work with a spirit of teamwork and communicate needs to management.
• Maintain current knowledge of the menu and hours of operation.
• Upsell items to guests.
• Ensure legal age verification for alcohol service.
• Keep station clean and organized.
