Job summary

The Langham Chicago is seeking an experienced Bartender to join our luxury beverage team. You will provide professional service at Travelle Bar and Restaurant, leveraging extensive mixology knowledge to craft and suggest beverage offerings while ensuring guest satisfaction.

With a focus on Forbes standards, you will collaborate with the outlet team, maintain cleanliness and safety, and actively participate in inventory and seasonal beverage list development.

Qualifications

• Must have extensive mixology knowledge and skills.
• Basic knowledge of POS systems, i.e. Micros.
• Basic English language writing skills for requisitions/balance sheets.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to garnish, pour, and stock.
• Ability to read, speak and understand English to communicate with guests and staff.
• Ability to remember and promote menu items.
• Ability to work standing and in confined spaces for long periods.
• Ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffeemaker and blenders.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper bar setup in assigned sections with attention to detail.
• Inspect linen, silver, chinaware, glassware for cleanliness and appearance.
• Serve food, coffee, water and beverages to guests as required.
• Resolve guest complaints in a positive and professional manner.
• Cooperate with outlet team including servers and kitchen staff.
• Communicate with Restaurant Management daily.
• Clean restaurant area during and after meals.
• Attend monthly department meetings.
• Assist in month-end beverage inventory.
