Job summary

The Langham, Chicago is seeking an enthusiastic Food & Beverage Associate to provide friendly service in its Bar and Restaurant outlets. You will assist bartenders, set up tables, serve courses and beverages, and help guests with menu information while upholding Langham and Forbes service standards.

Strong English communication, basic F&B knowledge, and the ability to work as part of a diverse team are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife, garnish, glassware, bottles, scooping ice, mixing drinks, and reaching overhead to stock.
• Ability to read, speak and understand English to communicate with guests and staff.
• Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
• Ability to operate beverage equipment: coffeemaker, iced tea machine, etc.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper set-ups for tables in assigned sections with attention to detail.
• Inspect linen, silver, china, and other items for cleanliness and appearance.
• Serve food, coffee, water, and beverages to guests as required by guests.
• Cooperate with outlet team including servers, porters, and kitchen staff.
• Run food to tables and clearly explain dish components.
• Assist bartenders with bar setup and replenishment.
• Clear and reset tables as needed.
• Follow health and safety procedures.
• Acquire knowledge of the hotel and local information to respond to inquiries.
• Be a team player and work independently as needed.
• Attend monthly department meetings.
• Perform cleaning tasks using standard hotel products.
• Adhere to liquor regulations for serving alcohol.
