Job summary

Air Comfort, Inc. is seeking a UPS Technician III (Travel) based in Shreveport, LA to install, maintain and repair UPS systems for a diverse client base.

You will work both independently and on teams to ensure reliable power and rapid issue resolution across projects. This role requires 3–5 years of UPS servicing experience, strong electrical and mechanical skills, and familiarity with OEMs like Eaton, Schneider, GE, and Emerson.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience servicing UPS systems.
• Experience with electrical and mechanical UPS systems; familiarity with OEMs Eaton, Mitsubishi, Schneider, APC, GE, and Emerson.
• Knowledge of AC/DC theory, electronics and circuitry.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools: digital multimeters, amp clamps, phase rotation meters, power quality analyzers, IR cameras, oscilloscopes.
• Understanding of PPE, isolation devices and arc-flash safety.
• Ability to interpret torque values and verify installations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to lead teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• OSHA 30-hour, NFPA-70E, and Thermography Level 2+ trainings.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Perform startups, certifications, preventative maintenance, and scheduled maintenance on UPS systems and related battery systems.
• Install, troubleshoot, repair, start up, and commission all types of UPS systems and related installations.
• Diagnose and resolve routine and emergency issues with minimal customer disruption.
• Lead projects with multiple crew members and ensure teamwork and on-time completion.
• Operate UPS systems, battery systems, PDUs, ATS, and AC/DC rectifiers safely and efficiently.
• Communicate with general contractors, subcontractors, partners, and clients.
• Assess manpower requirements and estimate materials needed for maintenance and installation services.
• Promote a safe and productive work environment and address safety concerns.
• Share knowledge and mentor less experienced team members.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate with internal teams and clients.
• Regular and reliable attendance is essential.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Services Management.

• Knowledge of or willingness to learn AC/DC theory, electronic components, and circuitry.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as digital multimeters, amp clamps, phase rotation meters, power quality analyzers, IR cameras, and oscilloscopes.
• Understanding of proper use of isolation devices, arc-flash suits, and PPE.
• Competency in series, parallel, and series-parallel connections.
• Ability to interpret torque values, apply torque marks, and visually inspect installations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead and work collaboratively with team members of varying skill levels.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• Completion of OSHA 30-hour certification, NFPA-70E Safety Training, and Thermography Level 2 or higher.
• U.S. citizenship required.
