Job summary

Limiting Factor Group designs, builds and manages power infrastructure for compute systems and utility providers. We seek a UPS / HV Lead to oversee maintenance, testing and repair of UPS, batteries, switchgear, transformers and protective relays at client sites.

You will supervise switching operations, ensure NFPA 70E compliance, train site technicians, and maintain detailed records. Travel to other LFG locations and occasional nights/weekends are expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years working on UPS systems and medium- or high-voltage equipment.
• Training and qualification to work on high-voltage equipment.
• Any electrician license or certification the state requires for the work performed.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E and NFPA 70B.
• Experience writing and executing switching procedures in live facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance, testing and repair of UPS systems, batteries, and high- and medium-voltage equipment.
• Plan and supervise switching operations and planned outages, using written switching procedures.
• Carry out or oversee battery, breaker and relay testing and infrared inspections.
• Coordinate with the utility and with equipment manufacturers’ service teams.
• Lead the response to electrical faults.
• Enforce NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout and grounding practices on every job.
• Train site technicians on safe operation of the electrical system.
• Keep test and maintenance records.
