UPS Field Service Technician
Location: Rhode Island, Massachusetts or Connecticut
Salary: $70,000 to $90,000 depending on experience and factory training
We are working with an established independent critical power specialist that has supported customers across New England for more than 35 years. They are seeking an experienced UPS Field Service Technician to service critical power equipment across the region, with most work concentrated in Massachusetts.
Service, maintain, troubleshoot and repair commercial and industrial UPS systems.
Perform preventative maintenance, equipment inspections and initial start-ups.
Diagnose critical power faults using multimeters, oscilloscopes, power analyzers and amp clamps.
Complete battery impedance and load testing on battery storage systems.
Respond to emergency callouts while minimising customer downtime.
Support equipment installations and larger project work.
Explain equipment operation, faults and corrective actions to customers.
Complete service reports, timecards and expense documentation accurately.
Maintain company-issued tools, technical documentation and vehicle.
Identify additional service or equipment opportunities where appropriate.
Previous hands-on UPS field service experience.
Strong electrical, electronic and battery systems knowledge.
Experience with Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Vertiv or similar UPS equipment is desirable.
Manufacturer factory training would be advantageous.
Strong fault-finding and customer-facing skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team.
Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel across New England.
Availability to participate in 24/7 emergency callout coverage when required.
Ideally based within approximately one hour of Exeter, Rhode Island.
