Salary: $150–$200/day

Job summary

Dawson School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Teacher for Upper School Math for the fall semester of the 2026–27 school year, approximately September 3 – November 13, 2026. The teacher will inspire students’ engagement with mathematics through thoughtful instruction that develops problem-solving, analytical thinking, and quantitative reasoning skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Math education or related field is required.
Minimum of three years of teaching experience, preferably at the upper school level.
Strong classroom management and student engagement skills are essential.
Warm, approachable demeanor with a genuine enjoyment of working with upper school students.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Collaborative, team‑oriented mindset with strong personal responsibility and professionalism.
Ability to thoughtfully integrate technology into instruction and communication.
Proficiency with Google Workspace tools (Drive, Docs, Sheets).

Responsibilities

Report to and collaborate closely with the Director of Upper School.
Teach four sections of Upper School Math.
Carry out additional responsibilities to support the mission and daily life of the School.
