Job summary

Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, MD is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Math Teacher for a limited-term period from late September 2026 through early November 2026. The teacher will follow the current curriculum, supervise students, assign and review homework, and maintain attendance while collaborating with staff and administration.

Current MSDE certification preferred.
Knowledge of child development and supervision.
Experience teaching or working with secondary school students.
Proficiency in utilizing digital and online learning platforms.
A desire to embrace and support the values of the Archbishop Spalding community, both inside and outside the classroom.

Responsibilities

Actively supervise students at all times.
Respond to all parent communication in a timely manner.
Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration.
Oversee the instruction of students following the plans provided by the regular teacher.
Follow the daily routine of the teacher and fill in for duties outside the classroom, such as morning drop-off or pick-up, as needed.
Interact effectively and respond to communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner.
