Job summary

La-Z-Boy Incorporated in Dayton, TN seeks a production associate to hand-build high-quality upholstered furniture. The role requires standing long hours, lifting at least 50 lbs, and using power tools, stapling, framing, and air tools.

You will work in a team to assemble, upholster, frame, cushion, and finalize units following specifications. You must have a practical education/experience mix, basic reading/writing, and be able to complete in-house training.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the above duties.
• Basic reading and writing skills.
• Completion of in-house training curriculum.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong coordination for routine, repetitive tasks.
• Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per day with frequent bending, twisting, and reaching.
• Capacity to push, pull, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team atmosphere.
• Perform any position within the cell as needed.
• Proper use of Kan Ban containers.
• Upholster: assemble components by upholstery notes within specifications.
• Frame: assemble components and finish edges as specified.
• Cushion Process: insert stuffing materials and seal quilted units.
• Final Assembly: assemble all components and confirm unit completion.
• Packaging: secure and prepare finished units for shipment.
