Job summary

La-Z-Boy Incorporated in the United States is seeking a production upholsterer to hand-build quality furniture. You will work in a fast-paced cell, using staple guns, framing tools, drills and air tools to assemble components.

The role requires standing up to 10 hours, lifting 50 lbs, and following detailed upholstery notes to meet daily goals. Responsibilities include team-based work, snapping frames, cushioning, final assembly, and packaging.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the above duties.
• Basic reading and writing skills.
• Completion of in-house training curriculum.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong coordination for routine, repetitive tasks.
• Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per day with frequent bending, twisting, and reaching.
• Capacity to push, pull, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Skilled use of hands for gripping, pulling, and tugging.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team atmosphere.
• Perform any position within the cell as needed.
• Proper use of Kan Ban containers.
• Upholster: knock down sharp corners, staple, tack, and trim as per notes.
• Frame: staple materials, glue, and assemble components.
• Cushion process: insert stuffing, seal, and staple materials.
• Final assembly: assemble units and ensure completion.
• Packaging: secure materials and prepare for shipment.
