Job summary

La-Z-Boy Incorporated in Dayton, TN is seeking a physical, fast-paced Upholsterer to hand-build quality furniture in a team environment. You will stand up to 10 hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and use tools to frame, upholster, and assemble components according to design notes.

This role requires reliability, basic reading and writing skills, and willingness to learn our in-house process. Weekly hours are 40, with competitive benefits and opportunities to grow within a long-standing legacy of comfort.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the above duties.
• Basic reading and writing skills.
• Completion of in-house training curriculum.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team atmosphere.
• Perform any position within the cell as needed.
• Proper use of Kan Ban containers.
• Upholster: knock down sharp corners, staple materials, assemble components.
• Frame: use frame guns, glue, and air tools to assemble components.
• Cushion: insert stuffing, seal and quilt, staple materials.
• Final Assembly: assemble components, oil mechanism, scan ticket.
• Packaging: secure materials and move units as needed.
