Job summary

Y-12 National Security Complex seeks an UPF Commissioning Liaison Specialist to assist the Commissioning Manager in integrating systems from construction to operation. You will support front-line teams, plan work, and resolve interface issues between UPF commissioning and existing operations.

The role emphasizes safety, schedule tracking, and collaboration with engineers and startup teams to ensure timely readiness for facility operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree: minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
• Master's degree: minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• PhD: no experience required.
• Twelve or more years of education and/or relevant experience may satisfy educational and experience requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support development, tracking, and monitoring of commissioning, testing, and system turnover schedules.
• Monitor, track, coordinate, and resolve issues related to commissioning schedules, facility readiness, equipment/tooling availability, and procurement of required supplies, services, or components.
• Serve as a relief lead as requested, supporting shift and pre-job briefings, and ensuring accurate completion of required documentation.
• Identify and implement Lean/5S and productivity improvements to operational and commissioning practices, providing floor leadership in implementing approved initiatives.
• Support management in liaison activities with bargaining unit employees, training status, staffing actions, and work request planning.
• Interact with project stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate execution of system readiness activities.
• Maintain safe working conditions, proactively prevent injuries, contaminations, and exposures, and ensure the safe, efficient, and effective flow of work within the facility.

Education

Bachelor's degree: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
