Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking a UX Designer to turn design vision and user-experience thinking into concrete UI specifications and prototypes for Unreal Engine production.

You will outline interaction routes, component structures, and navigation that work across platforms and inputs, while collaborating closely with engineers and UI artists. The role emphasizes developing an adaptable UI system, documenting behavioral rules, and refining designs based on playtests and engineering constraints.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on UI/UX experience delivering digital products or gaming interfaces.
• Proficient in Figma, components, variants, auto-layout, and design handoff documentation.
• Experienced with Unreal Engine UMG basics and engine constraints.
• Ability to create annotated outputs and acceptance criteria for engineers.
• Strong knowledge of focus-based navigation and multi-input interaction.
• Excellent written and spoken English (B2+).

Responsibilities

• Create UI flows, user journeys, and interaction routes for features and screens found in-game, shaping them into specifications engineers can build from.
• Develop and expand a reusable UI component system with patterns, components, variants, and states to keep design delivery aligned.
• Write out extensive behavioral rules covering focus and navigation order, back-navigation logic, anticipated input reactions, error/empty/loading conditions, and edge cases.
• Collaborate with client-side engineers and UI artists to ensure designs remain workable, performant, and coherent when integrated into the engine.
• Lead continuous refinement by inspecting completed builds and updating designs based on technical limitations and QA/playtesting findings.
