Job summary

EPAM Systems Inc. is seeking a Senior UI Engineer to build and maintain player-facing UI in Unreal Engine for a cross-platform live product.

You will craft reliable UI at runtime, integrate with gameplay systems and data sources, and ensure strong performance across input methods. Responsibilities include implementing UI screens and flows, owning end-to-end UI behavior, and collaborating with design to deliver maintainable UI.

Qualifications

• 5+ years shipping UI in Unreal Engine with UMG and Blueprints.
• Strong UI architecture knowledge: modular components, state management.
• Experience with cross-platform UI navigation and accessibility considerations.
• Proficiency with version control (Perforce preferred).

Responsibilities

• Implement UI screens, flows, and reusable components in Unreal Engine (menus, overlays/HUD, modal flows, lists/grids, etc).
• Own UI behavior end-to-end: navigation, focus management, input handling, state transitions, and error handling.
• Integrate UI with asynchronous data sources (client services/APIs, player data, remote config), including caching and loading states.
• Partner with UI design and UI art to translate specs into shippable implementations.
• Debug and optimize UI performance and stability (frame time, hitching, memory, draw cost).
• Help establish best practices and patterns for UI development.
