The City of New York's Department of Social Services - Information Technology Services (ITS) seeks an IT Project Specialist to function as a Unix Middleware Engineer. The role focuses on overseeing complex infrastructure automation, cloud migration, and identity management to support enterprise applications.

Formación

• Bachelor's or higher degree in computer science, engineering, HCI, interactive media, data visualization, or related field with required years of experience.
• Associate degree with six years of relevant experience in the area(s) required.
• Eight years of relevant full-time experience with specialization in a technology/ domain.
• Equivalency to the above educational/experience requirements accepted.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee complex infrastructure automation, cloud migration, and identity management.
• Lead design, implementation, and maintenance of high-availability containerized environments and middleware stacks.
• Develop and implement Software Release Management strategies and CI/CD models (Jenkins, Git, Java; Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift).
• Write Ansible playbooks to automate deployment and integrate with Jenkins for CD.
• Launch and manage AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, Route53, VPC) including security groups and load balancers.
• Develop observability strategies and design threshold monitoring; implement Splunk/AppDynamics alerts and dashboards.

Educación

Baccalaureate degree in computer science, engineering or related field

Associate degree in computer science, engineering or related field

Baccalaureate degree and eight years experience in relevant area

Education/experience equivalent to 1-3
