Job summary

William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri seeks a Client Support Technician to provide Level 1–2 helpdesk support, installing, configuring, and troubleshooting software and hardware for clients and end users, with rotating evening/weekend on-call duties. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

This is a full-time, 40-hour per week, 12-month on-site position. Required: high school degree or equivalent, proficiency with Windows and Mac, ability to lift 50 pounds, and ability to drive

Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent education and customer service experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Windows and Mac operating systems and software installation tasks.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and drive University vehicle.
  • Experience configuring, installing, upgrading, and troubleshooting Intel-based PCs and Macs.
  • Knowledge of hardware, software and network configurations.

Responsibilities

  • Log, monitor, resolve, and close helpdesk work orders.
  • Assist end users to resolve issues and identify security concerns.
  • Ensure hardware, software, and peripherals are configured and operational.
  • Perform standard preventative maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems and identify trends.
  • Manage system user accounts and security records.
  • Act as consultant to clients on software/hardware installation.
