Job summary

North Carolina A&T State University is seeking an experienced Emergency Management Specialist to oversee the university-wide emergency planning program, including maintaining the Emergency Operations Plan and related continuity plans. The role will support the EOC and coordinate with campus departments to ensure policy alignment and effective incident response.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in emergency management or related field and may include remote or hybrid work per policy;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination.
• All degrees must be from accredited institutions.
• Valid Class C North Carolina Driver License or ability to obtain prior to start date.
• FEMA ICS 300 & 400 certification preferred or obtainable within one year.
• Eligible for remote/hybrid arrangement per university policy.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize campus emergency management efforts to maintain and update plans.
• Maintain Emergency Operations Plan, Recovery Plan, Hazard Mitigation Plan, and Continuity of Operations.
• Coordinate with campus departments to align policies with the campus Emergency Plan.
• Serve in EOC as Deputy Manager and ensure equipment and supplies are ready.
• Provide on-call emergency management support and coordination during incidents.
