Job summary

North Carolina A&T State University seeks an Emergency Management Specialist to manage campus-wide emergency planning programs, maintain key plans, and serve in the EOC during incidents. The role supports policy development, drills, and coordination across departments.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in a relevant field or equivalent experience, ICS certification within a year, and strong ability to communicate and train staff. On-site work with occasional overtime is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Disaster Management, Public Administration, or related field is preferred.
• ICS 300 & 400 certification or ability to obtain within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Manage university-wide emergency planning program and maintain Emergency Operations Plans.
• Serve in the absence of EM Director during EOC activations or incidents.
• Coordinate with campus departments to develop emergency policies and revise plans to meet NIMS standards.
• Maintain EOC operations, coordinate incident management software access, and support after-action reports.
• Provide emergency management support for special events and weather decision support.
