Job summary

North Carolina A&T State University seeks an University Program Specialist to manage the university-wide emergency planning program, maintaining key plans and serving in the absence of the Emergency Management Director during EOC activations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and related experience, with preference for FEMA ICS coursework. On-site duties include emergency response readiness and collaboration with the Department of Public Safety to ensure campus safety and preparedness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
• FEMA course work is preferred (ICS 100, 200, 700, 300, 400).
• ICS 300 & 400 Certification or ability to obtain within one year of employment.
• Valid Class C North Carolina Driver License or ability to obtain prior to start date.
• Mandatory Employee; available on short notice; EOC activation and travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the university-wide emergency planning program and maintain EOP, Recovery Plan, Hazard Mitigation Plan, and COOP.
• Serve in the absence of the Emergency Management Director during EOC activations or incident response.
• Revise the campus Emergency Action Plan to meet NIMS standards and ESF protocols.
• Coordinate with campus departments to develop and revise emergency policies.
• Support the Department of Public Safety in safeguarding life and property and ensuring campus preparedness.
