Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago invites applications for the University Supervisor for Clinical Experiences and Student Teaching Experiences. The role supports pre-service teachers through on-campus seminars and school-site visits, mentoring and guiding candidates, and serving as a liaison between the College of Education and cooperating schools.

Starting Fall 2026 and Spring 2027; compensation is paid per credit hours of supervision per semester, with $1,400 per credit for doctoral

Qualifications

Must have earned masters degree in the discipline.
Minimum of three years teaching experience.
Personal and professional commitment to inclusive education, diversity, advocacy, and social justice.
Hold a teaching license preferred.

Responsibilities

Attend training sessions at the start of the semester; attend program meetings and workshops to support candidates.
Conduct multiple observations of candidate teaching in the field.
Meet and communicate regularly with candidates mentor teacher; promote a positive relationship with the mentor teacher, school principal, and school counselor.
Provide support and feedback to the candidate throughout the semester; assist program faculty in problem-solving during field experience/internship.
Keep candidates informed about licensure changes; complete formal assessments of the candidate at midterm and/or conclusion of the semester.
There is also a weekly seminar component.
