Job summary

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign seeks part-time Clinical Instructor for School & Community Experiences in the College of Education. The role supervises teacher candidates during field experiences, observing and guiding them through goal-setting, pre- and post-observation conferences, and feedback sessions.

Responsibilities include liaising with schools and staff, coordinating evaluations, and facilitating seminars across geographic areas.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education or higher; extensive clinical supervision experience or specialized training in high-needs content areas.
• Minimum of three years of classroom teaching; considerable classroom teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Liaise among student teachers, cooperating teachers, course instructors, and SCE staff.
• Observe student teachers during field experiences; conduct goal-setting, pre-observation, and reflective post-observation conferences; formal observations per placement.
• Provide oral and written feedback after each formal observation.
• Encourage reflective thinking about candidates’ objectives, goals, strategies, and progress.
• Collaborate with cooperating teachers and SCE staff to enact remediation processes for candidates needing assistance.
• Coordinate evaluation of teacher candidates with cooperating teachers and the candidate themselves.
• Facilitate seminars for teacher candidates in select geographic areas.
