Job summary

First Merchants Bank is seeking a Client Relationship Representative to join our team in Columbus. You will deliver high-quality customer service, handle deposits and loan applications, and proactively engage clients to meet their financial needs with bank products and digital tools.

You will also open accounts, process loans, and use CRM to manage client interactions while supporting sales goals and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year banking, sales, or related experience; at least six months selling products or services.
• S.A.F.E Act registration at the time of employment through NMLS; must meet qualification within 3 months.
• Ability to obtain Notary Public designation.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• In-depth knowledge of products/services offered by the bank (all lines of business).

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality customer service by addressing banking needs in a fast-paced, relationship-focused banking center environment.
• Proactively engage clients to understand current and future financial needs and recommend appropriate products, services, and digital solutions.
• Resolve client inquiries, concerns, and complaints within scope of authority, ensuring timely resolution and a positive client experience.
• Utilize feedback and service insights to strengthen client relationships and build loyalty.
• Maintain accurate client records and account information to support relationship management.
• Open new consumer and business accounts and process loan applications for new and existing clients.
• Utilize CRM and sales tools to document, track, and manage client interactions and incentive activity.
• Educate clients and enroll them in electronic banking products and services during account opening and onboarding.
• Assist Banking Center Manager with administrative and operational activities, including audits and branch balancing.
