Job summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System seeks a Unit Technician for the Employee Women’s Wellness Center. The role coordinates patient care, handles clerical duties, and performs phlebotomy and basic nursing tasks under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Qualified applicants will have one year of acute care hospital experience and relevant credentials such as nurse aide, medical assistant, or patient care technician, plus CPR certification within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must have completed or hold a listed credential (nurse aide, medical assistant, or patient care technician).
• One year acute care hospital experience.
• CPR (Heartsaver) within 90 days of hire.
• Current licensure or registry as applicable.
• Enrolled in an accredited nursing program with fundamentals of nursing documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy tasks and blood draws as needed for the unit.
• Coordinate patient care and clerical needs as the primary contact for the unit.
• Provide basic hygiene care, injections, venipunctures, and vital signs under RN direction.
• Maintain patient records and prepare reports to aid unit decision-making.
• Admit, transfer, discharge patients and manage unit logs and supplies.
