Qualifications

• Must have completed or be enrolled in one of the listed education paths (nurse aide, medical assistant, patient care technician, or nursing school)
• One year acute care hospital experience
• Current Heartsaver CPR within 90 days of hire
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and basic patient care tasks
• Strong communication and computer/data entry skills
• Demonstrates flexibility, prioritization, and patient-centered care

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy tasks and blood draws for the unit
• Coordinate patient care and clerical needs as primary unit contact
• Provide basic hygiene care, injections, venipunctures, and routine treatments under RN supervision
• Advocate for patients and maintain confidentiality and rights
• Maintain patient charts and generate reports for unit decision-makers
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition with the health team
• Admit, transfer, and discharge patients and manage patient valuables
• Maintain infection control and environment of care standards
• Order and deliver supplies and paperwork as needed
• Perform other duties assigned by management
