Job summary

Henry Ford Health’s Brighton Center For Recovery is seeking a Unit Technician to assist in behavioral health settings. The role involves supporting RN-led care, monitoring patients, and helping with daily activities in a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3–6 months of customer service/patient service experience.
• Valid Driver's License prior to hire date.
• CPI certification within 120 days of employment and maintain current certification.
• BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association within 120 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients and the environment, document observations, and maintain a safe unit.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and provide comfort and support.
• Take and document patient vital signs, height, and weight as directed.
• Prepare medical records, collect specimens, and assist with laboratory processes.
• Support the multidisciplinary team in developing patient treatment plans.
• Maintain supplies and ensure infection control and safety policies.

Qualifications

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.


• 3-6 months of previous work experience in a customer service and/or patient service environment.


• Valid Driver's License obtained prior to hire date.


• CPI certification within 120 days of employment and maintain current certification thereafter.


• Basic Life Support Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 120 days of hire/transfer date.

Preferred Qualifications

• Post high school training as a medical assistant or equivalent.


• Previous training and/or experience in obtaining vital signs.
