Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking an Emergency Room Technical Assistant to assist with patient care under supervision, supporting nurses and providers in a high-acuity Emergency Department.

You will help maintain a safe, organized environment while collaborating with the care team to ensure timely, compassionate treatment for patients in Macomb County.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• BCLS certification.
• One of the following certifications/programs: B-EMT, Medical Assistant, nursing, medical doctor education, or 1 year ER Tech experience with 12-month completion window.
• Successful completion of a 180-day orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care based on individual needs within the scope of practice.
• Support registered nurses and providers in delivering emergency care.
• Ensure a safe and organized environment for patients and staff in the Emergency Department.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide compassionate and efficient patient care.

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• BCLS certification.
• One of the following certifications/programs: B-EMT, Graduate from a formal Medical Assistant program, Completion of a formal nursing education program, Completion of a formal medical doctor education program, OR One (1) year of applicable Emergency Room Technical experience in lieu of above completed certification/program (Must complete applicable certification/program within 12 months of hire).
• Successful completion of a 180-day orientation period.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Emergency Department Technician or Medical Assistant experience.
• EMT license.
