Job summary

Inova Healthplex in Ashburn seeks an RN Unit Supervisor for full-time nights (7PM–7AM) with weekend rotation. This standalone ED, part of Inova Loudoun hospital, offers a collaborative team environment and opportunities for clinical ladder advancement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year RN clinical experience required.
• Licensed to practice as an RN in Virginia.
• BLS certification required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven leadership ability fostering teamwork and retention.
• Proficiency with computer-based healthcare tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the unit as front-line supervisor and ensure high reliability.
• Oversee patient flow and ensure patient-centered care.
• Support shared governance and promote evidence-based practice.
• Mentor bedside RNs and drive quality improvements.
• Collaborate with ED leadership to maintain operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires at least one year of Registered Nurse Clinical experience
• Associate Degree RNs within one year of completing their BSN
• Completion of revised Charge Nurse Workshop within the first 90 days
• BLS required.
• Licensed to practice as an RN in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exhibits leadership ability that fosters teamwork and retention.
• Demonstrates professionalism and ability to remain calm and lead in dynamic and busy situations.
• Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office and healthcare software required.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and prioritization; can serve as a resource and mentor to other clinical staff on the unit.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Preferredcandidate will have (1) plus years ED experience with Peds & Adult Patient population, with experience as charge or supervisory responsibilities.
• Specialty certification specific unit within 1 year
• BSN or MSN preferred
• Strongly prefer current ACLS and PALS
