Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking an experienced Emergency Room RN Unit Supervisor for the Night shift (7pm - 7am). Eligible nurses may receive sign-on and relocation bonuses. Orientation rotates through Days, Mids, and Nights.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year RN clinical experience in acute care.
• BSN from an accredited nursing school OR ADN within one year of completing BSN.
• RN license in Virginia or eligible to practice as RN.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association at start.
• Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills and caring demeanor.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducts high quality shift huddles and communicates priorities and metrics.
• Ensures environmental and safety rounding and RN/Patient/Medical Director rounding.
• Rounds on staff to remove barriers and improve care and engagement.
• Reviews core measures and KPI data and develops action plans for improvements.

Inova Mt Vernon Hospital is seeking an experienced Emergency Room RN Unit Supervisor to join our Emergency Dept. Eligible Nurses will qualify for sign on & relocation bonuses.

Full-Time, Night shift (7pm - 7am)

During orientation will rotate through all shifts (Days, Mids, and Nights).

Emergency Room Registered Nurse Unit Supervisor Responsibilities

• Conducts high quality shift huddles by communicating strategic priorities related to target, actual and gap barriers in addition to small tests of change, results of rounding, challenges, celebrations and other matters
• Conducts effective safety huddles and conducts or appropriately delegates all environmental and safety rounding and conducts and ensures that Patient, Medical Director and RN rounding is completed for areas of responsibility
• Rounds on staff continually and serves to remove or elevate barriers to providing quality care while enhancing staff engagement
• Reviews core measures, key performance indicators and other metrics relevant to unit/patient populations and participates in the analysis of unit-based service outcomes as well as development of action plans that lead to systematic improvements in outcomes

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience: Requires a minimum of one year of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.
• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing OR Associate Degree RNs that are within one year of completing their BSN.
• License: Must be RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN.
• Certification: BLS from American Heart Association upon start.
• Inova RN Unit Supervisor and Charge Nurse Training within 3 months.
• Proficient in English.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanour toward others
• Proficient computer skills required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strongly prefer 2 year plus of ED RN experience.
• Previous management/direct supervisor experience strongly preferred.
• CEN/ACLS certification desired.
