Corewell Health Corporate in Troy, MI is seeking a Part-time Unit Secretary for the Pre Post Recovery - Troy Hosp.

In this fast-paced unit, you will coordinate non-clinical patient care activities, manage communications, serve as receptionist and liaison, and handle clerical duties including stocking supplies and coordinating equipment repairs.

The role supports teamwork and strong organizational skills, with a day shift from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, at Troy Hospital.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Specialized Unit Secretary/Health Unit Coordinator training preferred.
• 1 year of clerical or customer service experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate non-clinical aspects of patient care on the unit.

About the unit

The Pre-op and PACU at Troy Beaumont are a fast-paced critical care unit that specialize in the preparation and recovery of patients who are undergoing a surgical procedure. Our department is comprised of 3 pre-op areas and 3 PACU areas, specializing in both outpatient and inpatient surgeries. Staff who join our units should be teamwork oriented and possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and decision-making skills.

Scope of work

The Unit Secretary coordinates the non-clinical aspects of patient care by managing communication and clerical tasks essential to the functioning of the unit. Performs unit clerical functions. Acts as a receptionist. Acts as an intradepartmental and interdepartmental liaison. Orders and stocks office supplies, coordinates repair of office & unit equipment.
