Job summary

Corewell Health in Troy, MI, is seeking a Part-time Nursing Assistant for the 3E Progressive Care Unit. You will provide patient care under RN supervision, manage clerical tasks, and help with supplies on a 24-hour weekly schedule. Shifts run 7 a.m.

to 7:30 p.m., with every third weekend work. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a nursing assistant program (or 1 year CNA experience), and BLS/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of nursing assistant program and/or one year CNA experience.
• BLS certification required or American Red Cross equivalent.
• Current CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care assignments under RN direction and unit priorities.
• Clerical tasks and manage supplies/equipment in designated care areas.
• Document in electronic medical record and act as receptionist when needed.
• Organize daily work assignments and participate in safety initiatives.
• Complete all safety competencies and other assigned duties.

3 East is a 27-bed surgical progressive unit. We take vascular, trauma, ortho, and GI surgical patients.

Scope of Work

Provide patient care assignments as delegated by and under the direction of a registered nurse. Clerical/manages supplies/equipment in designated care areas. Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy. Documents in electronic medical record. Acts as a receptionist and organizes daily work assignment based on unit priorities. Organizes daily work assignments based on unit priorities. Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis. Performs other duties as assigned.

Orientation

This position requires a full week of corporate orientation. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm. You will be required to attend the entire week consecutively.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Completion of nursing assistant program and/or one year of nursing assistant experience.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required
• Current CNA certification preferred
