Job summary

Presbyterian Rust Medical Center's Progressive Care Unit is hiring a Unit Secretary/Nursing Tech to perform secretarial and clerical duties while serving as a communication hub for the nursing unit.

The role includes assisting with patient care tasks (IV therapy, wound care, phlebotomy after training) and operating EMR systems, with a 12-hour night shift. Compensation offers a range with growth opportunities and extensive staff development benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Preferred: specialized training in basic patient care (CNA, Medical Assistant) or 6 months direct patient care experience.
• Maintains current certifications in required emergency response training (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Courteously greets and directs customers; promotes accurate unit communication.
• Answers phones and processes information; redirects calls as needed.
• Monitors patients and documents vital signs and activities in patient records.
• Transports patients and ensures proper documentation.
• Assists with IV therapy, wound care, splinting, and bedside testing under supervision.
• Stocking of supplies and ensuring cleanliness of the unit; prepares rooms for next patients.
