Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Rio Rancho, NM, is seeking a Unit Secretary/Nursing Tech for the Progressive Care Unit to perform secretarial duties and provide advanced patient-care support as directed by licensed staff.

This full-time night shift role involves clerical tasks, patient monitoring, basic care, and use of the EMR. Training, safety programs and loan forgiveness opportunities are offered where eligible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Preferred: basic patient care training (CNA/MA) or nursing student with skills lab.
• Receives on-the-job training and competency verification.

Responsibilities

• Greet and direct customers; promote timely unit communication.
• Answer phones and process information; route calls appropriately.
• Monitor patients and document in patient records; transport patients.
• Assist with IV therapy, limb immobilization, wound care and basic procedures.
• Operate EMR at unit secretary level; ensure unit cleanliness and supplies.
