Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Preferred: specialized training in basic patient care (CNA/MA or nursing student with skills lab).
• On-the-job training and competency verification to perform primary functions.
• Maintains current training: BLS (AHA Healthcare Provider) and emergency response certifications.

Responsibilities

• Greets and directs customers, promotes accurate unit communication.
• Answers phones and processes information; redirects calls.
• Monitors patients and documents vital signs in the patient record.
• Transports patients and documents actions for patient records.
• Performs or assists with basic clinical tasks under supervision, including IV therapy initiation and wound care.
• Assists with basic nursing procedures and patient hygiene; prepares rooms for the next patient.
