Job summary

New Vista Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Newark, NJ seeks an experienced registered nurse with strong supervisory skills to coordinate nursing services and ensure continuity of resident care. The role involves monitoring medication passes, directing daily rounds, and providing direct nursing care as necessary.

Candidates should have at least five years of nursing experience, a valid NJ RN license, and knowledge of LTC guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must possess valid NJ state RN license.
• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Five (5) or more years of nursing experience required.
• Two (2) years or more years of experience as a supervisor in a nursing care Center, hospital or other related health care Center.
• Working knowledge with PCC and MDS.
• Knowledge of current LTC state guidelines.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Bi-lingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents’ total regimen of care.
• Provide the Director with information relative to the nursing needs of the resident and ability to meet those needs.
• Schedule daily rounds to observe residents and to determine if nursing needs are being met.
• Perform direct nursing care as needed.
• Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules to ensure that medications are being administered as ordered and that treatments are provided as scheduled.
