About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Nursing Unit Manager (RN or LPN) who combines strong clinical judgment with hands‑on leadership and a commitment to quality resident care.

In this role, you'll work closely with the Director of Nursing and nursing leadership to oversee the day‑to‑day operations of an assigned nursing unit. You'll support residents and families, guide and develop nursing staff, monitor clinical care and documentation, and help ensure the unit operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable standards.

This is a great opportunity for a nurse who enjoys being close to both resident care and team leadership – someone who can coach staff, solve problems, manage priorities, and step in clinically when the team needs support. The position provides leadership to clinical nurses, LNAs, unit clerks, and other assigned support staff.

What You'll Do
  • Oversee the day-to-day nursing services and operations of an assigned unit.

  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to nurses, LNAs, unit clerks, and other assigned team members.

  • Help ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, and appropriate nursing care.

  • Complete preliminary and comprehensive nursing assessments.

  • Assign nursing and aide responsibilities based on resident needs and staffing resources.

  • Review clinical documentation for completeness and accuracy.

  • Participate in and lead resident care‑plan meetings.

  • Monitor unit practices for compliance with applicable regulations, nursing standards, and center policies.

  • Address staff concerns and communicate significant issues to nursing leadership as appropriate.

  • Encourage staff development and participation in education and training programs.

  • Participate in QAPI and other quality‑improvement initiatives.

  • Help maintain appropriate medications, supplies, and equipment on the unit.

  • Work collaboratively with residents, families, providers, nursing leadership, and the interdisciplinary team.

  • Provide direct nursing care and function as a licensed nurse when staffing or resident needs require.

  • Participate in the on‑call rotation as required.

What We're Looking For
  • Nursing degree from an accredited program.

  • Current RN or LPN license in good standing and without active disciplinary action.

  • Minimum of two years of direct‑care nursing experience in long‑term, restorative, or geriatric care.

  • Minimum of one year of nursing management experience.

  • Current CPR certification.

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.

  • Sound clinical judgment, decision‑making, and problem‑solving abilities.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to remain organized and composed while managing changing priorities.

  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer applications.
