Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Unit Manager / Infection Control Nurse for a long-term care facility in Catonsville, MD. The role leads nursing operations on a unit, ensuring high-quality resident care and strict infection prevention practices.

You will supervise RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other staff, collaborate with physicians and leadership, and educate teams on infection control while monitoring care plans and documentation. This on-site role offers strong growth opportunities and a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license in the applicable state.
• Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care.
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and regulatory requirements.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily nursing operations and resident care within an assigned unit.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and clinical support to RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other nursing staff.
• Monitor resident conditions, care plans, clinical documentation, and changes in care needs.
• Assist with staffing, assignments, and ensuring appropriate coverage for the unit.
• Participate in orientation, training, coaching, and development of nursing staff.
• Serve as a clinical resource for staff and address resident care concerns.
• Collaborate with physicians, providers, nursing leadership, and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Implement and monitor infection prevention and control program.
• Conduct infection surveillance and track trends of infections.
• Monitor compliance with infection prevention practices (hand hygiene, PPE, isolation).
• Educate staff on infection prevention policies and current best practices.
• Assist with outbreak prevention, investigation, response, documentation, and reporting.
• Support antibiotic stewardship and infection-related documentation.
• Ensure infection prevention practices meet regulatory requirements.
• Participate in QA, performance improvement, audits, and surveys.
• Promote resident safety, clinical excellence, accountability, and teamwork.
