Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Unit Manager / Infection Control Nurse for a long-term care facility in Frostburg, MD. The role oversees daily nursing operations and leads RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other staff to promote high-quality resident care.

The position is on-site with hourly pay of $35-$40. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k), PTO, paid holidays, and opportunities for professional growth. Active nursing license and leadership experience required.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license in the applicable state or ability to obtain.
• Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or similar healthcare setting.
• Nursing leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily nursing operations and resident care within an assigned unit.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and clinical support to RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other nursing staff.
• Monitor resident conditions, care plans, clinical documentation, and changes in care needs.
• Assist with staffing, assignments, and ensuring appropriate coverage for the unit.
• Participate in orientation, training, coaching, and development of nursing staff.
• Serve as a clinical resource for staff and help address resident care concerns.
• Collaborate with physicians, providers, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary care team.
• Implement and monitor infection prevention and control program.
• Conduct infection surveillance and track trends involving infections.
• Monitor compliance with infection prevention practices, including hand hygiene, PPE, isolation, and environmental protocols.
• Educate staff on infection prevention policies and current best practices.
• Assist with outbreak prevention, investigation, response, documentation, and reporting.
• Support antibiotic stewardship and appropriate infection-related documentation.
• Ensure infection prevention practices meet federal, state, and facility requirements.
• Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, audits, and regulatory surveys.
• Promote a culture focused on resident safety, clinical excellence, accountability, and teamwork.
