Job summary

St. Joseph's Center in Scranton, PA, seeks an Overnight Lead Direct Support Professional to mentor the DSP team on the overnight shift and ensure safe, supportive care.

You will orient new staff, maintain staffing ratios, participate in interdisciplinary meetings, and uphold the center's mission and policies while fostering a cooperative, respectful environment.

Qualifications

• Overnight shift leadership experience preferred.
• Experience mentoring direct support professionals is a plus.
• Ability to maintain safety and quality in a residential setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the orientation of new staff and ongoing staff development.
• Assure that adequate staff ratios are in place, cross train employees, and assist in the management of employee absences.
• Assists in the development of program plans and be an active member of the interdisciplinary team.
• Ensures that a safe environment is provided and maintain program materials and equipment.
• Assists in interviewing and onboarding new Direct Support Professionals.
• Monitor and train DSPs on Shift Responsibilities and update as needed.
• Participates in in-service training and in team meetings.
• Implements mission, philosophy, policies and procedures of St. Joseph's Center.
• Maintains a cooperative relationship with coworkers and supervisors and creates an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust within the facility.
• Is flexible to changes in duties, priorities, methods and environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
