Job summary

Compass Group USA’s ESFM division seeks a Unit Director to manage cleanliness, sanitation and security for assigned buildings and to supervise janitorial staff. You will coordinate activities, train supervisors and ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining safety and equity.

You will assign duties, inspect work, and handle complaints, ensuring supplies and equipment are available and maintained. Effective communication with managers and occupants is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years as supervisor in housekeeping or service-related field with high customer/client contact.
• Strong work ethic, initiative for quality and customer service.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of budgeting processes and awareness of profit and loss concepts.

Responsibilities

• Communicates between shifts to ensure completion of tasks.
• Trains workers in janitorial methods and equipment operation.
• Issues supplies and equipment to ensure quality and timely delivery of services.
• Performs daily inspections and follows up on assignments.
• Cross trains staff for multiple positions.
• Holds weekly staff reports and inspections.
• Meets with staff to review task completion and future projects.
• Secures buildings after work and manages project timelines within budget.
