Job summary

Deborah is seeking a Unit Coordinator to support patient care through coordination of unit clerical activities, communication, record keeping, and order transcription. The role requires prior unit coordinator experience or related clerical work, a high school diploma, and strong organizational skills with attention to accuracy.

Preferred: unit coordinator course and/or secretarial and computer training, knowledge of medical terminology; Medical Terminology Certificate is a plus.

  • License and credentials: none required; Medical Terminology Certificate preferred.

Job description

Position Summary: Supports the provision of patient care through the coordination of unit clerical activities, intra and inter departmental communication, record keeping and order transcription.

Experience

Required: Previous experience as unit coordinator, completion of unit coordinator course or previous clerical/secretarial experience

Education

Required: High School Degree or equivalency ;

Preferred: Unit coordinator course and/or secretarial and computer training, Knowledge of Medical Terminology

License and Credentials

Required: None

Preferred: Medical Terminology Certificate

Skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, organization and time management skills, computer skills, basic knowledge of medical terminology; ability to use standard office equipment including fax machine, multi-line phones, and copiers; ability to handle multiple tasks and to work independently

Populations Served

Infant (0-1); Toddler (1-3); Preschool (3-6); School Age (6-12); Adolescent (12-18); Adult: Early Adult (19-45); Middle Adult (46-59); Late Adult (60-79); Late, Late Adult (Over 80)

Hours: 72 hours per pay

The minimum starting rate for this position is $17.14
