Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Part-Time OSU Unit Clerk (6pm-11:30pm). You will perform clerical and receptionist duties, coordinate unit communications, manage records, and assist with patient flow under Unit Leadership.

High school diploma or GED is required for hires after 6/1/2017. 1–3 months of related experience or training is preferred, with prior healthcare exposure advantageous.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required for those hired on or after 6/1/2017.
• 1-3 months related experience and/or training preferred.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to successfully complete the organizations' competency requirements for English, writing, spelling and reading comprehension.
• Ability to successfully complete the hospital's orientation, core orientation and unit specific orientation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and compile records on the nursing unit.
• Coordinate unit communication systems (phones, nurse call system, hospital information systems); relay information.
• Maintain optimal public relations and assist in maintaining supplies and environment.
• Input and retrieve data from the organization's computerized systems.
• Direct visitors to patients' rooms or waiting areas and answer phones.
