Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital is seeking a Unit Clerk for the GMU on a part-time 12-hour day shift (24 hours per week). The role supports nursing units by handling clerical tasks, coordinating communications, and assisting with patient flow and admissions. Strong attention to detail, data entry, and effective communication are essential.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and some healthcare exposure; additional competency training may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or before 6/1/2017 hires.
• 1–3 months related experience or training preferred.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to complete English, writing, spelling and reading competency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform clerical and receptionist duties for the unit.
• Prepare/compile nursing unit records; coordinate unit communication systems.
• Relay information and maintain unit environment; assist with supplies and equipment.
• Direct visitors, answer phones, and route messages to patients and staff.
• Transport patients/guests within the facility and assist with admissions paperwork.
• Input/retrieve data in the organization's computer systems and maintain patient records.
