Job summary

Responsibilities include directing visitors, paging nurses, handling phones, and preparing deliveries, with a focus on courteous communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience in a healthcare environment or patient-facing roles.
• Proficiency with Cerner and Eagle systems preferred.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of clerical experience.

• Welcome and direct visitors and hospital staff to appropriate areas.
• Page nurses and answer phones on the unit.
• Sign for important medical deliveries and multitask as needed.

Provide compassionate patient focus and superior customer service - keeping our fast-paced environments running smoothly. Coordinate appointments and perform general clerical duties at the unit nursing station to assure the timely, efficient and accurate flow of patient information. Welcome and direct visitors and hospital colleagues to appropriate areas. Page nurses and answer phones on your unit. Sign for important medical deliveries. Cultivate a courteous and respectful demeanor while multitasking between people and responsibilities. This position is a part-time (5 shifts biweekly) evening shift position (3:30PM-midnight) at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, weekends and holidays included.

Preferred Criteria

• Experience in a healthcare environment
• Knowledge of Cerner and Eagle

Required Criteria

• High School Diploma or Equivalency
• Minimum of one-year previous clerical experience
• Knowledge of computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and courteously with staff, patients, and visitors
