Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY is seeking a Unit Assistant for the Medicine unit (6GN) to greet patients and families and support a compassionate, patient-first environment on the floor. You will coordinate clerical duties at the unit nursing station, answer phones, page nurses, welcome visitors, and help ensure timely, accurate flow of patient information in a fast-paced setting.

Required: at least one year of clerical experience, basic computer knowledge, and a high school

Provide compassionate patient focus and superior customer service -keeping our fast-paced environments running smoothly. Coordinate appointments and perform general clerical duties at the unit nursing station to assure the timely, efficient and accurate flow of patient information. Welcome and direct visitors and hospital colleagues to appropriate areas. Page nurses and answer phones on your unit. Sign for important medical deliveries. Cultivate a courteous and respectful demeanor while multitasking between people and responsibilities.

Preferred Criteria

• Ideal candidates will have experience in a healthcare environment.


• We're seeking individuals with extensive customer service experience and a desire to Put Patients First.

Required Criteria

• Qualified candidates have at least one year of previous clerical experience and basic computer knowledge.


• High School Diploma required.
