NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist is seeking a Nursing Assistant to float during the night shift, providing essential patient care across units while collaborating with RNs and patient care teams. The role requires adaptability to varied unit needs and commitment to patient comfort.

Responsibilities include monitoring vitals, assisting with meals and safe patient transport, and maintaining a respectful, clean environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Nurse Assistant training certification or enrollment in BSN program with clinical rotation.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Float to multiple hospital units (e.g., Med‑Surg, Critical Care, Psychiatry, ED) under RN supervision.
• Monitor and record vitals including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
• Assist with meals, patient transport, and basic care tasks.
• Provide compassionate, patient‑centered care at bedside and maintain a safe, clean environment.

Location Brooklyn, New York Shift: Night (United States of America) Description: Be an Advocate, a Care Taker, a Friend to Patients. Nursing Assistant - Float - Full-time - Nights At New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist, certified nursing assistants thrive at the bedside as invaluable care providers. Together, we serve as critical points of contact for patients and their families. Be a true partner with Registered Nurses, Nurse Technicians and more. Monitor blood pressure and temperature of patients, while ensuring the delivery of meals and safe transport. So bring your smile to work. Infuse energy and hospitality into a patient's day. Provide comfort and caring as a certified nurse's aide at NYP-keeping our fast-paced environments running smoothly. Provide compassionate patient focus and perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse. Improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment. Measure and record temperatures, pulses, respiration and blood pressure. Demonstrate what it means to be part of a team and raise the bar for patient care Float to all units-in the hospital such as - Med-Surg- Critical Care-Psychiatry- Emergency Department or where needed.

This a full-time night position (11:45PM-7:45AM) at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist, 3 weekend a month is required.

Preferred Criteria

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of experience as a nurse's aide in a hospital.

Required Criteria

• High school diploma or GED
• Certification from an approved, accredited Nurse Assistant training program or current Enrollment in a BSN program & completion of at least 1 clinical rotation
• Current BLS Training from the American Heart Association
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Basic computer skills
