Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Float Pool on the night shift. The role supports bedside care, monitors vital signs, helps with meals, and transports patients as needed, working in collaboration with registered nurses and other care teams.

The ideal candidate will have a CNA or BSN clinical rotation, a valid BLS, strong communication skills, and basic computer literacy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA training program certification or current BSN enrollment with at least 1 clinical rotation.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Float to units including Med-Surg, Critical Care, Psychiatry, ED or other departments as needed.
• Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure).
• Assist with patient meals, transport, and comfort under RN supervision.

Nursing Assistant - Float Pool - Full-time - Nights At New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist, certified nursing assistants thrive at the bedside as invaluable care providers. Together, we serve as critical points of contact for patients and their families. Be a true partner with Nurses, Technicians and more. Monitor blood pressure and temperature of patients, while ensuring the delivery of meals and safe transport. So bring your smile to work. Infuse energy and hospitality into a patient's day. Provide comfort and caring as a certified nurse’s aide at NYP-keeping our fast-paced environments running smoothly. Provide compassionate patient focus and perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse. Improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment. Measure and record temperatures, pulses, respiration and blood pressure. Demonstrate what it means to be part of a team and raise the bar for patient care Float to all units-in the hospital such as - Med-Surg- Critical Care-Psychiatry- Emergency Department or where needed. This a full-time night position (11:45PM-7:45AM) New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, weekends and holidays required.

Preferred Criteria

• Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of experience as a nurse’s aide in a hospital.

• Certification from an approved, accredited Nurse Assistant training program or current Enrollment in a BSN program & completion of at least 1 clinical rotation
